April Market Update

What a difference a month makes!!! At this time in March there was snow on the ground, winter storm damage everywhere, and an historic chill in the real estate market.  At time of writing we're enjoying our second day in a row of 70+ degree weather, and the daffodils are in full bloom (though there's still a lot a storm damage in this intrepid blogger's yard).  But most importantly, the real estate market is showing signs of life along with the flowers.

All metrics are starting to point in the right direction.  Sale price, new listings, inventory, and % of listing price received were all up.  At the same time, days on market is trending down.  In other words, we're seeing more homes sell faster for closer to asking price and for a tad more money than last month.

After a shaky start to the year, this is good news all around. It was a long and cold winter both weather-wise and market-wise, but spring has sprung and things are looking up. And as always, whether you are planning a spring buy, a spring sell, or a summer getaway we are here to help!  Call Chatelain Real Estate today to put us to work for you.
