Oceanfront Property on Cape Cod -- Three varieties to choose from!

Though only about 90 miles from end to end, Cape Cod boasts more than 550 miles of shoreline. This means that there are myriad opportunities for finding a waterfront home to suit you needs. Many Cape properties enjoy the majestic and endless view of one of the three bodies of water surrounding Cape Cod - Nantucket Sound, Cape Cod Bay, and the Atlantic Ocean. Each comes with its own advantages.

Nantucket Sound

The waters of Nantucket Sound are generally warm and the wave action is calm, making it perfect for families. For those interested in a second or a summer home, the South coast of Dennis is home to a large number of so-called "cottage communities" -- large plots of private land with many quaint and adorable little seaside cottages in them. These communities run the gamut from Chase's Ocean Grove in Dennisport, which has a long history and is a local landmark, to the brand-new Heritage Sands where owners enjoy the privacy of their own home but the ammenities of a Seaside club-like association.

Cape Cod Bay

Located in the crook of the arm formed by Cape Cod is Cape Cod Bay. The bay enjoys the crisp and clear waters which characterize the Gulf of Maine, with vast sand flats extending as far as a mile off shore at low tide. These flats are home to countless sea creatures and treasures like sea glass, driftwood, and seashells. The Atlantic

If you are looking for an infinite view and the majesty of the open ocean, then the Atlantic views are for you. The entirety of the outer Cape is bounded by the Atlantic itself with its gorgeous sunrises, long stretches of pristine beaches, and high bluff views. Whales can often be seen from shore on the Outer Cape, along with seals, sharks, and birds of every description.
