Locals love Chatham Lighthouse Beach, the town’s largest and most scenic stretch, situated just below an active Coast Guard station; Hardings Beach, a family-friendly beach with expansive sand, beach volleyball, and views of Stage Harbor; and Oyster Pond, a saltwater tidal pond within walking distance of downtown that offers the warmest and calmest swimming in town.

Things to Do in Chatham

Chatham is home to historic landmarks like the Chatham Lighthouse and the Godfrey Windmill, a 200-year-old grist mill. The Chatham Fish Pier is great for seal watching, and the dunes of the Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge are beautiful for exploring. Sports lovers can catch a Cape Cod Baseball League game at Veterans Field to root for the Chatham Anglers. Chatham’s Main Street offers a variety of upscale boutiques, fine art galleries, and famous candy shops that define the town’s charming character.
